THE ROSE THAT GREW FROM CONCRETE

This fictitious exhibition showcases Tupac Shakur's poetry and lyrical art, celebrating him and his work and global influence to the hip hop culture. He left behind a lyrical legacy that is abhorrently misinterpreted by those unfamiliar with his work. The media has served to blemish Tupac’s image in the eyes of these people, concealing what is the true worth of his work.

The rose symbolizing Tupac, and the concrete symboling the"ghetto". Tupac shakur came from nothing and grew into one of the most influential rappers during the 90s.  Changing perceptions of him and focusing on the beauty behind the poetry and lyrics was the intention behind this work. The concrete cracks are the main design element symbolizing the difficulties he grew up in. Keeping it minimalistic so the focus would be more on the lyrical side of Tupac Shakur.
